College Kicks Off First Full-Scale Study To Find A Cure For Cancer

The nation's largest cancer center is launching a massive effort against eight of the most deadly forms of cancer, similar to the all-out push for space exploration 50 years ago. The University of Texas Anderson Cancer Center in Houston will spend 3 billion dollars on the project over hte next 10 years. They'll be targeting forms of breast and ovarian cancer, lung and prostate cancer, melanoma, and 2 types of leukemia. 500-thousand people die from cancer each year in the United States.
