City In Eastern P.A. Partners With City In Israel
12.16.10 |
A medium-sized city nestled in eastern Pennsylvania now has a sister-city in Israel. Mayor Ben Kashriel, affectionately called "Mayor Benny," was in Williamsport yesterday to sign a sister city agreement and get a key to the city. The town he comes from-- Mayal Adumim (ah-doo-meem)-- is located just outside Jerusalem. The town has only been around for 35 years, yet it already has as many people as Williamsport-- 40 thousand. Williamsport's mayor, Gabriel Campana says the two cities can do business deals together and they can send exchange students back and forth, but even more importantly, both will be able to learn a little more from one another.
