A federal appeals court in New York City has ruled that churches can be barred from using public schools for Sunday services. A three-judge panel from the Second Circuit Court of Appeals made the decision on a 2-1 vote, ruling there was a "strong basis to believe" that allowing religious services at schools could be seen as an endorsement of religion. But Jordan Lorence of the Alliance Defense Fund says, "The U.S. Supreme Court has already definitively ruled that the government must allow religious groups to have the same access that other groups have." ADF intends to seek an appeal, either by all the Second Circuit judges or by the U. S. Supreme Court.
