School choice in Pennsylvania... from the perspective of a Christian school. Louise Cader works works at a Christian school in Clarks Summit. She says "it's not that the public schools are going to be stripped of all their money. They will still recieve a great portion of it. This is only for people with low incomes." Cader supports Senate Bill one, which would allow families to use taxpayer dollars to send their children to the school of their choice. She said "it's not just the people who have a good income who want to put their children in a private school, it's parents who are making less then 28-thousand dollars a year with a family of four." Hundreds of kids crowded onto the steps of the Pennsylvania State Capitol Tuesday to voice their support for school choice legislation. How did the dialogue go Tuesday? Not well... Governor Tom Corbett briefly addressed Republican senators behind closed doors after some senators said it wasn't clear whether the bill had enough support to pass or whether the governor supports it. The bill had been schedule for a Senate vote hours after those private school kids rallied at the Capitol. A vote will now be put off until at least April 26th. Corbett wouldn't tell reporters what he told the senators last night. But Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi says the governor expressed support for the bill, even though he believes it will need to undergo some changes.
