Cheerleaders' Religious Signs Draw Fire
09.30.09 |

Cheerleaders in Chattanooga Tennessee have had their signs taken away. Why? Because during football games, they were holding up Bible verses that read "commit to the Lord." The class president says the cheerleaders weren't trying to push religion, they were using Scripture to show motivation and inspire the players and fans.
But the school's spokeswoman didn't agree. She said the messages were a violation of the First Amendment of the Constitution. Now the whole community is rallying behind these girls. A rally was held last night and it was so big they had to move it to a larger site. A Facebook page has been set up to support the cheerleaders of Chattanooga.
