Changing the charter school system in Pennsylvania

11.15.19 | Bill Price

This morning Governor Wolf "took-the-wraps" off his plan to reform the state's 22-year-old law when it comes to how the commonwealth's 200 charter schools are run.

The Democrat says the current law is failing students, teachers, school districts and taxpayers.

Wolf wants to hold under-performing charter schools more accountable, put a cap on enrollment and put a moratorium on new schools in the state.

The governor says last year charter schools cost the public school districts two billion dollars.
