The tribes of the Cayuga nation are appealing the ruling this week by the New York Supreme Court that prohibited the sale of untaxed cigarettes at the nation's stores. The suit asked for an immediate injunction against the ruling to allow the sales to restart immediately.

The Cayuga Nation also is asking the court for the return of over 17-thousand cartons of cigarettes that were confiscated by Cayuga and Seneca counties in November.
