New York Senator Chuck Schumer announced today that three upstate rural hospitals will be getting more than one-and-a-half million dollars in Medicare funding for the next 12 months. It's part of the year end "fiscal cliff" deal. Without it, Orleans Community Health in Medina, Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville and the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw would have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in Medicare reimbursements. Those three hospitals serve a high number of medicare patients.
