Auto sales are rising across New York state. They're at their fastest pace in 8 years, due to low interest rates and pent-up demand. People were waiting out the recession before making a large purchase. The local market is due to have its best year this year since 2004, on pace to sell at least 40-thousand cars in the Fingerlakes alone. Sales are up 24 percent since bottoming out in 2009.
