Carrie Underwood Wows Online Audience In Performance Of Well-Known Hymn
04.26.11 |
A clip of country star Carrie Underwood went viral over the weekend. She was taped singing a version of "How Great Thou Art" at the Country Music Awards last Friday. Underwood couldn't get two-thirds of the way through the song before the whole house was on their feet with a standing ovation. Now here's what's really neat: it wasn't a Christian music festival-- or a Christian audience- yet the performance, in 2 days, garnered over a million views on the website Youtube, and Google searches on her version of it were 362 percent higher on Saturday alone. Some were saying-- "I'm not a Christian, but I can't turn this off." If you want to hear all 5 minutes of her performance, click here.
