Physician Euegene Gosy of Clarence is charged with 114 counts related to illegally issuing hundreds of thousands of prescription drugs over a 10-year span.

Drug Enforcement Agent John Flickinger said, "He was the No. 1 ranked prescriber in the state of New York. To put it in perspective, during that time period Gosy wrote more prescriptions than one of the largest hospitals in New York City."

The indictment accuses Gosy of essentially "acting as a drug dealer," in the words of U.S. Attorney William Hochul.  Hochul claimed Gosy fabricated his signature electronically to sign off on prescriptions when he was out of the country.

The counts carry a term of up to 20 years in prison.
