Bodies of father and son found in Susquehanna River

Athens Township Police have identified the father and son that were found in the Susquehanna River. Police say the bodies of 29-year-old Derek Marshall of Athens, and his one-year-old son, Maddox Marshall were found at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday.

According to Police, their car crashed into the river off of Sheshequin Road late Friday night. Police say shortly before the crash, an officer saw a car speeding along that road. Minutes later police were called to the same area where they found 31-year-old Emily Hoey along the shore. Police say Hoey was able to escape. 

Athens Township Police are still investigating the crash. 

UPDATE 10:45 a.m: Rescue Crews in Bradford County met up at the Ulster Township Fire Department around 8 a.m Saturday morning to resume their search.

Crews were seen with rescue raft boats entering the Susquehanna River in wet suits around 10:30 a.m. As of right now, officials are declining to comment on the matter.
