Binghamton honored the fallen firefighters of 9/11 with the 6th Annual Stair Climb

Standing only 18 stories, the state office building is just a fraction of the size of the former World Trade Center in lower Manhattan. But 200 people climbed the stairwells over and over again, many in full gear, until they reached the 110 stories of the towers.

Participant John Durgala said he was dying in civilian clothes. He said, "I can't imagine climbing those steps with all that panic, with all that commotion, all that chaos.  It shows how much heart these men have."

Participants wore name tags with pictures of the firefighters killed on 9/11.
