Researchers in Rochester, New York are using Big Bird to study the human brain. Scientists at the University of Rochester scaned the brains of kids and adults watching Sesame Street, and then had them take an IQ test. Kids who watched the show had neural activity that more resembled an adult, and scored higher on the test. They say the test is so simple it may help determine disabilities at a younger age.
