Best Buy Won't Honor $9.99 Big-Screen TV Deal
08.13.09 |
Prices on big screen televisions have been falling, but never to this level. Early Wednesday morning, BestBuy.com listed a 52-inch Samsung HDTV for nine-dollars-99-cents. That's a savings of more than 16-hundred-dollars. CNN.com reports it came as a result of what the company called a "pricing error."
One customer said he ordered a TV for under 85-dollars, which included 70-dollars in shipping and taxes. He is probably out of luck. Best Buy posted online messages telling customers, quote, "All current and previous orders made for the TV at this price on BestBuy.com will be cancelled, and customers will be refunded in full for their purchase." As customers took advantage of the error on the Best Buy web site, the company announced the deal was no longer available. They also apologized for the mistake and said they would, quote, "not be honoring the incorrect price."
