Price hikes have become an annual tradition for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission.

Tolls for both E-ZPass and cash customers will rise 6 percent, starting January 5th.

The increases were first announced in July.

The most common toll for passenger vehicles with E-ZPass will rise from $1.40 to $1.50, according to the turnpike commission.

For those in passenger vehicles paying with cash, the most common toll rises from $2.30 to $2.50.

This will mark the 12th consecutive year turnpike tolls have increased. Since 2014, tolls for E-ZPass customers have risen 44 percent; cash customers have seen tolls rise by 56 percent over that span.
