American Pastor Planning Appeal To Death Sentence In Iran

The wife of an American pastor whose been sentenced to eight years in prison in Iran says the Islamic regime views his Christianity as a national security threat. Pastor Saeed Abedini's wife Naghmeh says the conviction and sentence is being appealed. "My husband has defended himself. He's never done anything political against the government. He's just shared his faith." Naghmeh is living in Idaho with their children, who are 4 and 6 years old. She says "they pray every night, and wake up asking 'is he coming home today'?" The U.S. State Department has called for Abedini's release and has condemned what it calls Iran's continued violation of the universal right of freedom of religion.
