A SALSA Tradition
07.06.09 |
The SALSA Picnic at Walt's Pond is an annual tradition to be savored. For busy singles, it's a step out of their regular summer routine and a step into a "truly Norman Roclkwell experience."
Listen and hear why this is such a special SALSA tradition:
It's a "relaxed way to spend quality time with good friends along the shore of a beautiful pond."
"It's a day in the country for us city folk. For kids, it's swimming in Walt's pond, playing in the paddle boats and catching tadpoles in a styrofoam cup. For adults, it's a chance to catch up with old friends as well as meet new ones. It's sharing good food, fellowship and laughter. It's huddling under the shelter when it rains and playing volleyball when it's sunny. It's taking a stroll up the hill to tour the Barn's newest cattle facility while drinking in the sights of the rolling hills and the smells of the animals. It's lightning bugs, hay rides after dark, singing around the bonfire and cooking some-mores. It's sharing about what God has been doing in each other's lives while being in a beautiful setting of God's creation. It's truly a Norman Rockwell experience. What's NOT to love about the SALSA picnic?"
"The Salsa Picnic at Walt's Pond is a blessing to me because it is a time of relaxation with friends and family (kids being invited too). Over the years I have had the chance to visit with people I have met at other events and get to know them better. The feeling of peace and tranquility is present in the setting. Thanks to the Barnes Family for hosting us each year!!!"
It's a "fantastic opportunity to chat and get to know people with a variety of events to interest a variety of people. It allows the "formerly single" to still mingle with all their single friends. That's a big blessing."
SALSA Singles and SALMA (Salt & Light Married Alumni) will gather their children, carpool with friends, and head to Walt's Pond in Lawrenceville, PA for a delightful evening on Friday, July 17. Get your marshmallow roasting stick and join us at the Pond!
