Former clerk Pattiann Merrifield says Lock Haven University is forcing older employees out to avoid paying retirement benefits they'd get at age 60. Merrich, at age 58, claims the university fired her and replaced her with a 34-year-old.

Merrifield seeks to have her complaint against the state-run university and vice president of human resources turned into a class action lawsuit.

She had worked as a clerk at Lock Haven for nearly 10 years.
