A New York state prison guard remains in critical condition after opening a package left by his mailbox that exploded outside his home in Oneida county

Governor Cuomo visited the victim at the hospital in Syracuse Monday and refused to speculate on the motive. He said, "Let's get the facts.   And then, once we have the facts we'll make a decision...see if there's something to learn. Then we'll move forward."       

The 52-year-old correction officer suffered serious burns to his hands and arms Sunday morning when he opened a package near his mailbox in the Utica suburb of Floyd.

The FBI is aiding in the investigation.
No arrests have been made.
