A new study out by the Family Research Council shows marriage reduces childhood poverty by two-thirds. They say economic well-being in the United States is strongly linked to marriage. Researchers found only 5.8 percent of all married families were living in poverty in 2009. In fact, they found married couples are better off economically then persons in any other family structure.
