5 in 7 School Districts Across The State Still Have No Approval For Teacher Evaluations

One in every seven New York state school districts haven't submitted their evaluation plans to Albany yet. But it's not the new evaluations that are holding things up. The sticking point is actually salary and benefits. Schools that haven't submitted a plan are facing a looming January 17th deadline. Governor Andrew Cuomo has vowed that districts without a state-stamped plan will loose a scheduled increase of cash. The majority of the state's 700 districts missed the deadline of July 1st to have their plans submitted to the State Education department. 119 still haven't reached an agreement, and only 200 plans across the state have been approved.
