We have a very special guest joining the show this afternoon. Please tune in from 4-5p for an on-air performance from Jaime Jamgochian. Jaime still has three more shows in the Family Life listening area, in Norwich and Auburn, NY and Milton, PA. Tickets are $10 in advance, $13 at the door.
Also today, we mourn the passing of a legend. CBS News is reporting singer Andy Williams is dead at the age of 84. He reportedly passed away last night in Branson, Missouri, following a battle with cancer. Williams recorded more than a dozen gold albums and three platinum albums.
And finally, Jews worldwide are observing the solemn holy day of Yom Kippur. In the Jewish faith it is the day of atonement in which Jews cleanse themselves of sins transgressed during the past year. The holiday marks the end of a ten-day period of introspection which began with the two-day celebration of the Jewish New Year holy day of Rosh Hashannah. During Yom Kippur, there is a portion of the service in which worshippers pause and remember loved ones who have passed away. Yom Kippur also is observed with a fast which began at sunset last night and ends at sunset tonight.
