Thanksgiving Travel Up; Majority Driving To Holiday Destination

The highways and byways will become quite crowded this week as people head out on their Thanksgiving vacations.  Triple-A says that for a fourth consecutive year the number of people who will be traveling for the four-day holiday weekend has gone up nearly one-percent over last year, with more than 46-million-people expected to hit the road between Wednesday and Sunday.  In addition, 90-percent of those going away for the holiday will be taking off in their cars.  Meanwhile, the number of people getting to their destinations by air is on the decline.  This year just over three-point-one-million will be flying to their Thanksgiving dinner, while last year three-point-two-million took a plane over the Thanksgiving holiday.
