Forgiveness...one of the hardest things to do for sure. My husband has been unfaithful in our marriage more than once. We've been married 26 years and still married. I've had to throw my hands up in the air and yell "GOD PLEASE TAKE THIS FROM ME BECAUSE I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER ANYTHING". I pray everyday for strength to forgive my husband and God is great and has given me that strength and courage to go on and save our marriage. God is working through me to help us survive :) Thank you God

In the Matthew West song he mentions that forgiveness sets the prisoner free, but the prisoner that it really frees is you. It's so true, in the moment of anger I forget that the intense hatred or unforgiveness towards another is really only impacting me. The other person does not care and may not even know that I am angry at them, so it is destroying me. But forgiveness sets me free. I wrote down a quote from Andy Stanley that I try to remember any time i know that hatred and unforgiveness is impacting my life. "In the shadow of my hurt, forgiveness feels like a decision to reward my enemy. But in the shadow of the cross, forgiveness is merely a gift from one undeserving soul to another."
