Cecil's Health Update

MEDICAL UPDATE:  Thankfully, nothing major to report.  Sometimes the absence of bad news is just as good as good news.  I've been going through the normal follow-up visits for the VAD.  In June I'm scheduled to receive a new controller (2.02) which is the unit that's always connected to me.  The current one is a bit awkward and weighs a good five pounds.  The new one weighs about 8 oz. and is a little bigger than an iPhone.

I had an ultrasound last week (o.k., it's a girl!).  Actually it was a follow-up to make sure there was no recurrence of any pre-cancerous cells.  Still waiting on the results from that.  Also last week, we had a visit from "The Ramp Guys", a group of United Methodist men from the churches in Avoca and Bath.  A great group of guys, they've been building ramps to assist people in their mobility at no charge for 15 years.  The one they built for us makes it a lot easier to get in and out of the house.  It's a wonderful ministry and you can tell they're having a good time while they work.  (See photo below.)  Thanks to Glenn Davis, their coordinator and Pastor Barre of the Avoca UMC for their leadership and generosity.
