>>Farmer Grows Pink Pumpkins For Breast Cancer Awareness
(Brooklyn Park, MN) -- A Minnesota farmer wasn't the least bit surprised to see his patch full of pink pumpkins -- in fact, that's exactly what he wanted to see. Bert Bouwman tells "The Star Tribune" he planted 15-thousand pink pumpkin seeds -- known as "porcelain doll" seeds -- in his Brooklyn Park farm this year as a way of showing support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Bouwman is one of about 50 vegetable growers around the country who took part in the campaign started by the Pink Pumpkin Patch Foundation. Farmers who bought the unique seeds pledged to give 25-cents from every pink pumpkin to breast cancer research. And it doesn't look like there will be any problems raising the funds. Bouwman says he was surprised at how high the demand was for the pink gourds, explaining that he's even started shipping them out of state.

>>"Taken 2" Tops "Argo," "Sinister" For Second Box Office Win
Ben Affleck's hostage thriller "Argo" wasn't able to sneak past "Taken 2" at the box office this weekend. Liam Neeson's action flick came in at number one for a second consecutive weekend with estimated ticket sales of 22-point-five-million-dollars in the U.S. and Canada. But "Argo" -- which is already attracting Oscar buzz -- wasn't too far behind with earnings of 20-point-one-million-dollars. Affleck serves as both star and director of the film, which is based on a real-life CIA plot to rescue six diplomats from Iran in 1979 using a fake sci-fi movie as cover. Meanwhile, fellow newcomer "Sinister" comes in at number three. The horror film grossed 18-point-three-million-dollars, which is more than six times its minuscule three-million-dollar production budget. After that, the animated family film "Hotel Transylvania" comes in at number four with 17-point-three-million-dollars, while Kevin James' new comedy "Here Comes the Boom" rounds out the top five with 12-million-dollars.
