Family Life will present "The Light Meets The Dark Tour" with Tenth Avenue North in Rochester and Jamestown this October. The show line-up features special guests Addison Road and acclaimed singer/songwriter, Matt Maher.

Led by Mike Donehey's vocals and songwriting, Tenth Avenue North is known for its melodic, truth-inspiring songs and warmly textured sound. The band is reminiscent of and has been influenced by Christian artists like Jars of Clay, Third Day and Switchfoot.

Their debut album, Over and Underneath, was released in 2008 and included their first hit single, “Love is Here.”  Also released in 2008 was “By Your Side,” another hit single that won the GMA Dove Award for Song of the Year in 2010.

Speaking of 2010... Tenth Avenue just released its sophomore album, The Light Meets The Dark. The songs are poignant, intellectual and deliver an "emotional punch" unrivaled by other Christian artists out there. As songwriter Mike Donehey quoted in an interview with Christianity Today:

"Most of the themes in our songs are about truth and about the struggle to believe it. I think we have to represent both sides of that coin. Jesus said, 'True worshipers will worship in spirit and in truth.' When we sit down to write a song, essentially we are dealing with two things: Truth and the struggle to accept that truth. Emotion without truth is just sentimental and truth without emotion becomes cruel. Hopefully in our music, we are talking about the truth of God, but marrying that with the struggle that is within every person to believe. I think it's a struggle that will last for our whole lives."
