Youth Action began the school year with the long standing tradition of Family and Teen Skates. Family Life has been holding skates since 1966. We are privileged to carry on the tradition for another year!  Many things have changed in our culture and in our ministry since the skates began, but one thing never changes, the focus on Jesus Christ, and providing families with a safe, Christ - centered environment. At each skate, we also have a “devotional time” where a challenging message is given. Although the message hasn’t changed, how we present it has. The changes made allow us to keep our focus, but be culturally relevant to today’s teenagers.  New this year is the lounge area, with furniture, card games, and foosball tables, so you can “hangout” when taking a break from skating. We also offer a wide variety of flavored coffees creating a “coffee house” feel. During the event we play top Christian music hits from bands and artists such as, Skillet, Britt Nichole, Switch foot, etc… and classics from DC Talk, Third Day and more are being played as background music.  For pictures from this past month’s skate click here.
