Ernie Hasse Signature Sound

03.04.10 | Darcie Schwarz

With a modern approach to Gospel classics, Ernie Haase and Signature Sound is helping to create a new generation of Gospel music lovers, making this group one of the most influential forces in Gospel today. Their contagious energy spreads through each performance, bringing truth, rich harmonies, and joyful melodies to their audiences.

Ernie Haase, long-time member of the famous Cathedral Quartet, founded Signature Sound out of his passion for 20th Century Gospel groups. Inspired by his heroes, and in love with the traditional sound, Ernie wished to emulate the Gospel greats in a new way – in a fresh, modern-day style. In 2002, Ernie formed Signature Sound, a group of four spirited performers all sharing strong faith values and time-honored songs.

Over the years, the group has enjoyed many musical accolades. In 2009, Ernie and his quartet won Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year at the Dove Awards for "Reason Enough." That same year, the "Dream On" album launched at No. 1 on the Southern Gospel Music Chart. "Dream On" also was nominated for a 2010 Grammy in the category of "Best Southern, Country or Bluegrass Gospel Album."
