Ballet Magnificat
02.08.12 |
Oh... are we excited to tell you about these dinner theaters! A world-class Christian dance company, Ballet Magnificat!, will be performing its longest touring ballet—“Deliver Us!”—on Family Life's stage in March.
Dancers will treat audiences to a vivid story of hope and truth, one first told in the Old Testament Bible—the deliverance of Israel from Egyptian captivity.
Set to the music of Dreamworks' The Prince of Egypt, the ballet portrays the enslaved Jewish people under the oppression of Egyptian rule. Under the blazing sun, and within the shadow of the pyramids, the captive Jews cry out for deliverance. Pharaoh's oppressive regime of bondage is challenged as one man, Moses, attempts to free the people.
Ballet Magnificat! is out of Jackson, Mississippi, and was started by IBC Silver Medalist Kathy Thibodeaux and her husband, Keith - the former child star known for his portrayal of "Little Ricky" in the much-loved TV series, "I Love Lucy". Rememeber him?!
The dance company is also known for its highly skilled training programs such as Magnificat! Youth Ballet, MiniMag!, and a Summer Dance Intensive, all of which bring hundreds of students annually from around the world to Jackson, MS, for a unique technical and spiritual experience.
