Sherri Watters, Food Service Director
Sherri plans and makes meals for Family Life events and gatherings, usually serving hundreds of people at a time. With the magnificent help of her top advisors and bakers, plus a crew of dedicated volunteers, Sherri gives each event a flare of its own.
Sherri began working for Family Life in June of 2003. She had a feeling God was preparing her family for ministry, but wasn’t sure when it would happen. One winter, a friend invited Sherri to have Christmas with them in Bath, NY. Weary of bad weather, Sherri promised to make the drive from her hometown in Iowa, but on one condition: that it didn’t snow. Well, the snow held off and Sherri drove to New York for the holiday.
While staying in Bath, Sherri’s friend, Roger, mentioned that Family Life – his employer – had an opening in the kitchen. After a two hour interview with Rick Snavely, Sherri knew God was behind the whole trip to NY. Over the following summer, Sherri tested her chef abilities at LeTourneau – a youth camp run by Family Life – to prepare herself for the job. She cooked for hundreds of campers and staff there. After a summer of learning and refining new skills at Letourneau, Sherri came to work for Family Life as full-time Chef.
With a degree in Nutrition Counseling, Sherri’s passion is studying and teaching in the area of Alternative Medicine. She loves helping her friends and colleagues live healthier lifestyles, enlightening them on the importance of making good food choices. She also loves spending time with John and Amanda – her two awesome kids.
